Introducing S&S Girl Diaries. Designed to showcase Scarlet & Sam girls around the world, we interview the women whose unique style and creativity inspire us. Each month, we feature a new Scarlet & Sam girl from a different city, sharing their perspectives, most coveted products and style edit.
This month, we welcome Helen Tu - a content creator based in Toronto, Canada.
1. Which Scarlet & Sam piece has felt the most versatile in your wardrobe so far, and how do you style it?
100% the capsule bomber in charcoal. I reach for this every other day. It's the perfect silhouette, has four pockets (which we love), and the colour is so versatile. I love pairing it with an all-grey sweatsuit and ballet flats, or even with shorts and boots.
2. If you could design your ideal Scarlet & Sam item, what would it be and why?
It would be a belt bag. I am so obsessed with belt bags at the moment and have been on the hunt to add more to my collection. I find it’s such an easy way to elevate an outfit, especially when it's not only chic but also practical.
3. How would you describe your personal style in three words?
Sporty, chic and intentional.
4. What’s your go-to outfit formula when you need to feel instantly put together?
A cool jacket (with an Olsen tuck), dark wash jeans, ballet flats and my city bag.
5. What’s one trend you’re currently loving, and one you’re leaving behind?
Coloured tights! Especially baby blue tights. I wore baby blue tights for my birthday and I love how they turned out! Its definitely become an easy way to incorporate colour in an outfit since its winter right now in Toronto, and outerwear can really drown out your outfit.
One trend I’m leaving behind are Labubus. I never really understood the hype behind them and will definitely be leaving these behind.
6. Do you have a signature accessory that completes every look?
Definitely my everyday ring stack. Funny enough, I had a friend message me because she recognised me from another friend’s YouTube video solely from seeing my rings. I thought that was pretty funny. The rings I wear every day are a combination of a textured gemstone silver ring I made at a silver clay workshop, a thrifted signet ring and chunky rings from Pilgrim.
